Ed Toney, a dedicated New Yorker—born in Queens, living in Brooklyn—is a poet, writer and chemist. Ed began to concentrate on writing poetry while attending the workshops of Louis Reyes Rivera at Sistas’ Place in Brooklyn. He has read at poetry venues throughout the city including McNally-Jackson and Nuyorican Poetry Cafe, and at rallies for Mumia, Eric Garner and Black Lives Matter. Ed has been published in anthologies and magazines, and he continues to work on poetry and read with other collaborators.
440 Gallery is located at 440 Sixth Avenue in Park Slope, Brooklyn, between 9th and 10th Streets, and is convenient to the F, G, and R subways. The gallery is open on Thursday and Friday, 4-7pm, and Saturday and Sunday, 11am – 7pm, or by appointment.
