Me, Myself and Eye, Michel Gentile and 440 Gallery are pleased to present an afternoon of solo jazz by upright bass player and composer Hilliard Greene. Bronx-based Hilliard Greene performs widely in the NYC area, including vibrant locations such as Wave Hill, that capture his powerhouse playing of jazz combined with classical elements, rock, blues and R&B.
Hilliard has produced recordings under his ensemble The Jazz Expressions and the solo CD “Alone.” He has performed and recorded globally with numerous musicians including Jimmy Scott, Jacky Terrasson, Greg Osby, Kenny Barron, Vijay Iyer to name a few. Greene attended Berklee College of Music and the University of Northern Iowa and is currently a full-time faculty member at The Collective School of Music in NYC. He also provides private training to adults and children through workshops and master classes in upright and electric bass.
“Besides the exciting moving music, there is the amazement of the man’s technique. He is a real virtuoso. Hearing this album, we can all say we could just never have imagined the bass as a solo instrument that is wholly absorbing…”– James Forte, Wildflower Publishers
