440 Gallery’s monthly concert series, curated by Michel Gentile, presents Charlie Burnham in a late-afternoon performance of solo violin.
Burnham has a highly imaginative style that crosses genres, including bluegrass, delta punk, blues, classical and chamber jazz. A leader in The Odyssey Band ensemble, he has performed and recorded with musicians such as Cassandra Wilson, James Blood Ulmer, Wynton Marsalis and Henry Threadgill to name a few. Charlie can often be found playing at Brooklyn venues and frequents Barbes, Bar Lunatico, Sunny’s Bar and The Owl.
440 Gallery is located at 440 Sixth Avenue in Park Slope, Brooklyn, between 9th and 10th Streets, and is convenient to the F, G, and R subways. The gallery is open on Thursday and Friday, 4pm – 7pm, and Saturday and Sunday, 11am – 7pm, or by appointment.
