Barcelona-based Load gallery is set to participate in the inaugural Loop Lab Busan, a groundbreaking Digital and Media Art Festival taking place from April 24th to 26th, 2025, in Busan, South Korea.
As one of the seven selected galleries from Barcelona, Load will present the visionary work of artist Ezequiel Pini (Six N. Five), a pioneer in 3D animation and digital art. The festival, an extension of the renowned Loop Barcelona, promises to merge innovation, sustainability, and artistic exploration in a dynamic showcase of global talent.
Load gallery’s participation in Loop Lab Busan highlights its rising prominence in the digital art scene. The gallery will exhibit Species, a two-minute video by Ezequiel Pini, which explores imagined ecologies and speculative futures through meticulously crafted digital landscapes. This work, which premiered at Load’s inauguration in 2024, exemplifies Pini’s signature aesthetic, a blend of design, technology, and surreal storytelling that has inspired a new generation of 3D animators.
Alex Simorrè, founder of Load, emphasized Barcelona’s innovative spirit as a driving force behind the gallery’s focus on media art. “It’s essential that a fair with Loop’s reputation embraces digital art,” Simorrè noted, expressing hope for future editions to further integrate the medium.
The Loop Lab Busan Fair, held at the Grand Josun Busan Hotel from April 24th to 26th, will transform hotel rooms into intimate exhibition spaces, fostering direct engagement between artists, collectors, and audiences. Load will join esteemed Barcelona galleries like Galeria Senda and àngels barcelona, as well as international peers, in a program enriched by talks and networking events.
This festival marks a milestone for digital art in Asia, with partners like the Busan Museum of Art and A-Fluxion aiming to position Korea as a hub for future-oriented artistic discourse.
