Following a yearlong restoration by New York-based firm Architecture Research Office, the Rothko Chapel has reopened to the public with a new skylight that brings the space into alignment with Mark Rothko’s original vision for the first time. Join architects Stephen Cassell and Adam Yarinsky for a conversation on Zoom with Christopher Rothko about the history of the building, the importance of light within the Chapel, and the expansion of the Chapel’s campus.
The Glass House has been awarded a Quick Grant from Connecticut Humanities that supports “Glass House Presents,” an ongoing series of talks that sustain the site’s historic role as a platform for creative activity. Special thanks to the New Canaan Museum & Historical Society.
