Me, Myself and Eye: Ingrid Laubrock on Saxophone Sunday, July 31, 2016 at 4:40 PM.
Jazz Times describes saxophonist and composer Ingrid Laubrock as giving new meaning to the phrase “heavy breathing” on her 2015 recording Ubatuba. Laubrock’s music is grounded in the notion of breath and associations of air and wind. Since moving to Brooklyn from London in 2009, she has immersed herself in New York’s scene, working with some of music’s most forward thinking composers and performers such as Mary Halvorson, husband and percussionist Tom Rainey, and Jason Moran. Stop in for a late-afternoon performance of adventurous and playful pieces from this exciting, experimental musician.
