Graciela Montich: Graceful Gardens

Entranced by the breathtaking beauty of the botanical world, Argentinean artist Graciela Montich portrays the greatness of nature in her works.

Painting on linen, Montich depicts the essence of flora and fauna with spectacularly detailed realism. With careful and scrupulous brushwork, these compositions oscillate between the hyper-real and the surreal, always seductive in their intriguing balance of style. Montich masterfully blends painting techniques with fabrics and other media in order to translate her distinctive vision of the natural world into our purview. “The attraction I feel for the outdoor life in nature leads me to try to immerse myself in it, to be part of it, to live among the stems, the foliage, the fragrance of flowers, the smell of wet green,” says Montich. “All these experiences lead me to mix my oils, and flax. I treasure my flashes of light and dark woods caught in my vertical garden.”
Graciela Montich lives and works in Cordoba, Argentina. She has exhibited her work throughout her native country.
