When: The 17th annual Gowanus Open Studios (GOS 2013) on October 19-20, 12noon – 6PM.

Why: This annual event invites the public to visit, view, purchase and talk to artists about their art and art-making processes. Featuring over 150 artists located throughout Brooklyn’s Gowanus Canal area, visitors to this event can meet Brooklyn artists within the intimacy of their work spaces in former factories, warehouses and studio buildings. Painters, sculptors, jewellers, ceramicists, installation artists, performers, photographers, printmakers and mixed media artists are all opening their studio doors to the public. GOS endeavours to encourage the appreciation and practice of art in the broader community.
Where: Gowanus is located at the juncture of Park Slope and Carroll Gardens, near Cobble Hill, Boerum Hill and adjacent to Red Hook.
How: You can get to Gowanus Open Studios on foot, by bike, kayak, bus, LIRR, car or subway
