Museum Kunstpalast presents Andreas Gursky exhibition

Museum Kunstpalast presents the oeuvre of the Düsseldorf-based, internationally renowned photographic artist Andreas Gursky (born in Leipzig in 1955) stands, in contemporary photography, for a new approach to realism by means of conceptualisation or photo montage using digital technology. For his exhibition at Museum Kunstpalast, on view 23.09. – 13.01.2013,

Andreas Gursky, „Madonna I“, 2001. Fotoarbeit (C-Print), 281×206 cm, Sammlung Museum Kunstpalast, Andreas Gursky, VG BILD-KUNST, Bonn 2012

Gursky selected 60 works from his oeuvre. Rather than following a chronological order, the exhibition mixes new and old, small and some very large-scale works, thus facilitating new and unusual perspectives on Gursky’s photographic art.

Gursky’s works encompass subjects such as architecture, landscape, interiors, but also large-scale events attended by huge crowds. Further, in the Düsseldorf exhibition, which spans works from the early 1980s through to the work series Ocean I-VI, 2010, or Bangkok, 2011, Andreas Gursky also presents some of his latest works to the public for the very first time.
