Meulensteen announce that Donald Johnson-Montenegro has joined the gallery as its new Associate Director. Donald is currently finishing his MA in Modern Art: Critical and Curatorial Studies at Columbia University and recently curated the group show, The Every Other Day, at Ideobox Art Space in Miami. He is co-curating the forthcoming exhibition Common Love: Aesthetics of Becoming at Columbia University’s Wallach Art Gallery, opening in April 2011. In summer 2010, he was a guest researcher at the Centre d’Estudis i Documentació at the Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA). He has served on the Selection Committee for the Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation’s (CIFO) Grants and Commissions Program. Before beginning his graduate studies he worked at Sotheby’s in New York, prior to which he received his BA in English from Cornell University. Donald is the son of an Ecuadorian and American couple and grew up in Quito and Caracas.
