The London Art Book Fair is the UK’s largest art book fair and is the place to meet artists and writers, buy the latest art publications and see rare books that can’t be found elsewhere.
Over 90 leading publishers will fill the Whitechapel Gallery’s spaces from 24-26 September 2010. Publishers include Thames & Hudson, Phaidon, Tate Publishing, Saatchi Gallery Publications, White Cube, Coracle & Four Corners Books. With free admission and up to 40% off publications, The London Art Book Fair offers the opportunity to buy the best art books at great prices.
Artists including Jake & Dinos Chapman, Martin Creed, Bob & Roberta Smith, John Stezaker and Juergen Teller will all take part in events and there will be a book signing hot desk featuring renowned authors and artists with their latest publications. Talks and events running throughout the weekend showcase everything from open discussions to duelling debates, and print & writing workshops to film screenings.

Jake and Dinos Chapman open the fair on Friday 24 September with a talk and book signing, hosted by FUEL Publishing.
Martin Creed talk and book signing, plus a special reading of children’s book The Boy who bit Picasso with author Antony Penrose, son of Roland Penrose, who helped to organise the exhibition of Picasso’s Guernica at the Whitechapel Gallery in 1939. Presented by Thames & Hudson.
Bob and Roberta Smith book signing, and screening of American filmmaker Dan Eisenberg’s Displaced Person. Hosted by Black Dog Publishing.
Juergen Teller book signing, and screening of Robert Frank’s film Pull My Daisy with Steidl.
David Batchelor book signing and talk with John Stezaker. Presesnted by Riding House.
Lisa Le Feuvre discusses the art of failure and its lure for artists, on the occasion of her new book, Failure, the next in the Whitechapel Gallery’s Documents of Contemporary Art series.
The first in a series of duelling debates sees Gilda Williams and Julian Stallabrass take up opposing positions on the subject of the interview, while Sally O’Reilly ensures etiquette is observed.
Writing workshop with writer, performer and theatre director Chris Goode.
Plus Children’s Film Library screenings; workshops in how to design, carve and print editions, run by Kaleid Editions; William English curates a 2-day film programme, Oblique Texts and Visual Dialects.
