Art Authority for iPad and iPhone Updated

Open Door Networks Inc. and Project A Inc. (“We-Envision”) has announced that they are shipping new versions of Art Authority for both the iPad and iPhone through the iTunes App Store. The new versions include a “shuffle” feature that lets users view random selections of works, either from a particular period or across all periods, in continuous full-screen slide shows. Other recent new features include a significant speed-up and offline access to works viewed previously for the iPad, and many new works, iOS 4 and iPhone 4 support for the iPhone.

Art Authority for iPad, a constant top-10 reference app worldwide, was specifically designed for Apple’s groundbreaking device, bringing 40,000 high-resolution classic works of art to iPad users’ fingertips. Hailed as “an experience unlike any other” and “visually dazzling,” the app stunningly displays paintings and sculptures by over 1000 major western artists from ancient times through current-day. Art Authority for iPhone brings the same works and similar functionality to the smaller, more mobile device.

Art Authority’s new shuffle feature lets users explore the western art world in insightful new ways, either across its entire spectrum, or within one of the apps’ eight art periods. Shuffling is continuous, presenting an ongoing, ever-changing full-screen slideshow of the works. Captions provide initial jumping-off points for further exploration within the app.
