Have you ever thought that the two people in your life who were most different would also be the most interesting when they intersect? That is the concept behind CrossTalk, the provocative and popular series the Katonah Museum of Art (www.katonahmuseum.org) launched last year in partnership with the Katonah Village Library.
CrossTalk features two experts talking on unrelated topics, with the collision of disparate subjects leading to unexpected insights and connections during the audience question-and-answer period that follows. Season two of CrossTalk kicks off on Thursday, March 18 with author and Time magazine writer Joe Klein and television personality and former district court judge Catherine Crier.
A 6:30pm wine reception precedes the one hour program, which begins at 7:00pm at the Katonah Village Library (26 Bedford Road, Katonah). Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Reservations are strongly suggested. Proceeds from CrossTalk support children’s programming at the Museum and the Library. Joe Klein’s insights on national and international affairs have been showcased in his regular Time magazine column, “In the Arena,” since 2003. He is the author of Primary Colors (published as “Anonymous”), the best-selling roman à clef inspired by Bill Clinton’s 1992 presidential campaign. He is also the author of the novel The Running Mate and three non-fiction books: The Natural: Bill Clinton’s Misunderstood Presidency, Payback: Five Marines After Vietnam, and Woody Guthrie: A Life. He has written articles and book reviews for The New Yorker, The New Republic, The New York Times, The Washington Post, LIFE, Rolling Stone and many other publications. Mr. Klein is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and is a former Guggenheim fellow.
Following the rare accomplishment of being the youngest state judge elected in Texas, Dallas native Catherine Crier moved from the courtroom to the newsroom in 1989, co-anchoring CNN’s premiere evening newscast. Her subsequent work as a correspondent at ABC News earned her an Emmy award for Outstanding Investigative Journalism in 1996. Ms. Crier has also served as an anchor on FOX News Channel (The Crier Report) and Court TV (Catherine Crier Live). She is the author of several best-sellers including: The Case Against Lawyers and A Deadly Game: The Untold Story of the Scott Peterson Investigation; her fifth book will be published in the Fall of 2010. Ms. Crier currently develops television, film, and documentary projects as managing partner of Cajole Entertainment.
