Visions of the National Parks and Beyond opens at the Crary Art Gallery at 511 Market Street in Warren, PA on August 2nd. The exhibition features artwork by six renowned regional artists: Thomas Annear, Wendy Bale, Angela Caley, James Hoggard, Tom Janik, and Thomas Paquette. It showcases images of beautiful national parks will be presented in oil, gouache, and acrylic paintings, as well as photography, mixed media, and cut paper pieces.
Viewers can embark on a cross-country journey from the Smokey Mountains in the east to the Grant Tetons and Yellowstone National Park in the west, with plenty of stops in between. Experience the inner wonder each artist experiences while capturing the beauty of our nation’s most majestic places. Thomas Annear contemplates the balance of preserving wild spaces with the goal of keeping them open to the public for their benefit and enjoyment. Wendy Bale enjoys connecting with people and forming friendships through a shared love of nature and art. Angela Caley uses her image-making process to encourage others to discover new worlds through her eyes. James Hoggard conveys his gratitude for the stillness and calm of the wilderness. Tom Janik captures his fascination with nature’s beauty in his award-winning photographs, and Thomas Paquette’s well-travelled paintings are as layered and rich as their subjects.
Enjoy these breathtaking views of our country’s magnificent national parks and other wild places at the Crary Art Gallery. The opening reception, scheduled for August 2nd from 5p.m. to 7p.m., features artist talks and is open to the public.
Through September 7th, the exhibition is open to visitors on Fridays and Saturdays from Noon to 6p.m. and Sundays from Noon to 4p.m. Admission is always free! The Crary Art Gallery acknowledges funding support from the Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts from the Pennsylvania Council of the Arts.
The Crary Art Gallery is a non-profit private art museum located at the corner of Market Street and 6th Avenue in historic downtown Warren, PA. Its mission is to educate, entertain and extend the importance of visual arts. In addition to displaying its permanent collection, temporary exhibitions are held every even month beginning in February. Hours of operation are Fridays and Saturdays from 12 to 6 and Sundays from 12 to 4. Admission is always free.
