Museum of Flight announces Arts Festival

A palette of creativity will color The Museum of Flight’s first Arts Festival on Saturday, Sept. 16. The event will feature art workshops and demonstrations, plus music and performance. Entertainment includes pop-up concerts by local musicians and circus acts from Seattle’s School of Acrobatics and New Circus Arts (SANCA). Visitors can actively explore their creative side during drawing workshops taught by Shruti Ghatak, or with art workshops led by Esmeralda Vasquez—the artist who created the Museum’s 120 ft. outdoor mural this summer, The Freedom of Flight. Those who prefer to vicariously experience art making can enjoy live painting sessions with artists from Youwen Productions and live screen printing by Fingers Duke. The festival also marks the premiere of Chroma Clouds, a new digital animation and room-size projection created for the Museum’s Art+Flight project by artist Jessica Dolence.

The Arts Festival runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The events are free with Museum membership and included with general admission.
