Art & Wine: A Benefit for Arts Gowanus and Gowanus Open Studios 2016

Friday, October 14, 2016 7:30 PM – 10:00 PM Private Home, South Park Slope, Brooklyn

Join us for an evening of curated organic wines, passed hors d’oeuvres, and a private art tour led by artist Brian Adam Douglas of his artwork and home.

We will start by gathering at the home of Arts Gowanus Board Co-President Eve Moros Ortega and her husband Christophe Ortega. We will serve a sampling of organic and biodynamic wines curated by Christophe and Eve themselves and passed hors d’oeuvres from the delicious, Gowanus-based Runner & Stone restaurant.

Then, as a special art treat, we will go next door to the home of artist Brian Adam Douglas, also known in a previous (and sometimes returning) life as the street artist ELBOW-TOE. He will welcome us into his home to see his art and talk about his art-making process. Brian creates intricate, allegorical collages that can be mistaken for paintings. His work has been exhibited in solo shows in both New York and London and in group shows across the U.S. and England. Read more about his work on his web site.

We look forward to sharing this special evening with you as we celebrate the arts, kick-off the Gowanus Open Studios 2016 weekend, and raise funds to support the crucial work of Arts Gowanus to support, promote, and advocate for artists and a sustainable creative community.
