The Incheon International Digital Art Festival 2010 (“INDAF 2010”) will be held beginning September 1 in Tomorrow City in Songdo, Incheon. This is a major international exhibit and culture event organized by Incheon City as part of its efforts to develop as a hi-tech culture city.
With the theme “Mobile Vision: Unbound Aesthetics,” INDAF 2010 will showcase various works by media artists at home and abroad while exposing artwork contained within space for the time being to open space; it is expected to provide an opportunity for both visitors and Incheon citizens to experience firsthand and appreciate digital art perceived as distant by them.
As a venue for proposing future art beyond the boundary of art and industry through “unbound aesthetics all boiling down to one,” INDAF 2010 will mostly feature works that cannot be completed without viewers’ participation. Detailed programs are divided largely into six sections: , , , , , and .
The event will be participated in by foreign artists: Hermann Kolgen from France, Ulf Langheinrich from Germany, and Roy Ascott, a media art master from England; domestic artists such as Jun Kim, Dong-gi Lee, and Yong-baek Lee will also be featured.
Slated to be held for 30 days beginning September 1, INDAF 2010 expects to have as many as 90 artists in Korea’s digital art exhibition history; their 100 works will be displayed in various ways based on different concepts and imagination by seven curators from South Korea, Japan, and China to make viewers understand, appreciate, and enjoy them better, This is expected to be another must-see for viewers.
