The San Diego Fine Art Society (SDFAS) announces the First Annual Art Awards, a celebration of select individuals, exhibitions, and projects that have made a significant impact on the field of contemporary art during the past year.
The SDFAS Art Awards will be held on September 2, 2010 at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront. This exciting evening will include the much anticipated announcements of the Art Awards, amazing art, exquisite cuisine, opportunity drawings and live entertainment, and all for a spectacular cause – honoring and supporting the arts in San Diego!
SDFAS invites San Diegans to vote for the nominees by visiting http://www.artpulse.tv/vote. The winners will be announced at the Art Awards Dinner during the VIP Opening Night of Art San Diego

SDFAS will also host Launch Pad, an exclusive reception to launch graduating artist Duke Windsor, of the Artist Mentor Program, into the next phase of his career on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at Art San Diego.

The funds raised at this event will support the Artist Mentor Program and other exciting programs offered by the organization, such as ArtPulseTV , a new online television show committed to exposing San Diego’s rich arts and culture with in-depth interviews and fresh content every week and ArtPulse:mobile, a new iPhone App that will give San Diegans and visitors unparalleled access to San Diego’s art and culture scene. This Gallery Positioning System will assist people with locating art galleries and museums throughout San Diego County with details on the latest events.
