Chris Levine, renowned for his 3D and still images of HRH Queen Elizabeth II, has created a series of 3D holographic portraits of the legendary pop icon. An immersive multimedia affair featuring lightboxes, lazers, video and a specially-commissioned ’soundscape’, The Vinyl Factory show – Stillness at the Speed of Light – showcases the “extraordinary alchemy” between the two artists.
This show, open through May 14, to which entry is free, will also be used to launch Grace’s new video ‘Love You To Life’, which Chris Levine directed.
The Vinyl Factory, which is hosting Grace’s first ever London art exhibition, will be taking preorders for the bespoke art & vinyl edition, which includes the Hurricane LP, Grace’s first album of new material in nineteen years.
Limited to just 500 copies, Grace Jones by Chris Levine: Hurricane will be presented in a beautiful gatefold sleeve with unique screen-printed front cover artwork of Grace Jones by Chris Levine. Inside, along with two super-heavyweight 200-gram records, mastered for vinyl, and released on record for the first time, will be a Giclee fine art print of Chris Levine’s ‘Superstar’ image of Grace Jones. In addition, each of these art & vinyl editions will be numbered and signed by both Grace Jones and Chris Levine. Also on offer from 29th April will be a series of limited edition fine art prints of Chris Levine’s highly collectible artworks, due to be showcased at the much anticipated new exhibition, ‘Stillness at the Speed of Light.’ Prints include the iconic ‘Superstar’ image above, which also comes in A2 size, featuring sequential images of Grace. This has been created in two different colours, and will go on sale alongside two triptychs, ‘Superstar’ and ‘Stillness.’
