A chic evening of art, libations, fun fashion and live entertainment await party goers at the 2010 Party Arty event. Hosted by The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art’s Young Friends of Art, the event will be held Jan. 23, 2010, from 8 p.m.-Midnight at the Museum.
Through the Lens is the theme for this year‟s annual fundraising event in the world-renowned Bloch Building at The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. General admission and VIP tickets are available now at 816-751-1ART (1278) or partyarty.org. All proceeds benefit the Museum.
Kansas City‟s young professionals will enjoy an evening of drink and hors d’oeuvres from RA Sushi in Leawood, while DJ Andrew Northern and DJ Bill Pile spin the best in underground dance music in the main lobby of the Bloch Building.
After last year‟s success, the International Interior Design Association Mid-America Chapter of Kansas City Color+Couture returns to sponsor the evening‟s fashion show, featuring outfits created from donated home remodeling products such as carpet, tile, wall coverings and more.
Capturing the events of the evening will be exclusive print media sponsor INK Magazine. The night‟s emcee is Bryan Truta of 105.1 Jack FM. In the weeks leading up to Party Arty, INK and Jack FM will have Through the Lens ticket giveaways on their websites. Following the event, party goers can visit inkkc.com to find their photos from the night.
VIP ticket holders will have access to the exclusive Ink magazine VIP lounge with a private bar and breathtaking view of the Kansas City Sculpture Park, with a special appearance by DJ duo kipsquared.
“The need to raise funds for continued services and programs at the Museum has never been more apparent than they are now. The Young Friends of Art have put together an energetic and driven group of Kansas City‟s young „movers and shakers‟ to create one of the year‟s best social events,” said Copeland, director of business development at Vince & Associates Clinical Research.
“We are very excited to build on the success of last year‟s Party Arty,” said MacQuaid, an editor at Hallmark Cards. “It‟s great to see so many young people in one place who support the arts in Kansas City.”
Although membership in the Young Friends of Art is geared toward people in their 20‟s and 30‟s, Through the Lens is open to all. Event tickets are $40 for Museum members and $60 for non-members. VIP tickets are $100 for Museum members and $125 for non-members. This year, the Museum is giving party goers the opportunity to purchase memberships along with their Party Arty tickets at a discounted price.
