This will be the artist’s third solo exhibition at PDNB Gallery. Open through January 2, 2010
Since his first solo show at PDNB in 2004, Argentine born, Esteban Pastorino Díaz, has been recognized as a significantly international artist. His photographs can be found in many museum collections including American institutions: The Art Institute of Chicago, The Boston Museum of Fine Arts, the Santa Barbara Art Museum and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Solo exhibitions in Boston, MA, Wellesley, MA, Woodstock, NY and Davis, CA have followed since.
His playful aerial photographs, taken with a kite, continue to enchant young and old. And his 3-D panoramas have astounded many.
Pastorino’s engineering background enabled him to create complicated (and simple) devices to produce his work. His 3-D panoramic camera is handmade along with the light boxes that give the images dimension.
His current project required a pilot’s license and an ultra light craft. The goal is to break the world’s record by creating the longest photograph ever produced.
Pastorino will arrive early to create new work with Dallas as his subject. This work will be included in this show.
His impressive new work will include an aerial view of the Yokohama Fairgrounds.
The image is a play land fit for a child, yet surreal for adults. Some phenomenal 3-D light boxes will be featured in this show as well.
A new monograph of the artist’s work will be available.
