Margot Stoeckl was born in 1963 in Gerlos (Tyrol). From 1979 to 1983 she finished the higher technical educational establishment for art craft and wooden processing in Innsbruck. Later she worked in the parental company, a carpenter’s workshop, and signed from 1986 for the construction of a hotel, with inside planning and creation of that responsibly. Since 2004 she is active exclusively as a free lance artist.
The way of the Tyrolean artist Margot Stoeckl to the art was long, however, she went him from conviction. The wish for creativity and the creating urge were stronger than the adaptation to normal mental patterns. Thus she began to experiment with tone and work. Old people hand-hammered tools and utensils from the everyday life drew them always magically and thus she started to collect this and to include in her works. Finally, this was the right thing for them.
People of the most different characters and from the different cultures which she met on her many trips over and over again and they fascinated, are spring and inspiration of her pieces of art. Inspirations and ideas do not let them sleep, and then it works not seldom also at night to the right expression has originated, and the piece of art after her view is perfect. Sunlight or the reflexion of the television set – the expressions of her plastics change again and again, they communicate with the artist. This knowledge can make addicted and always let arise new.
„If today I look back, I know that I have carried this gift always in myself. If I look forwards, I know that I can also realise them.“ thus the Tirol artist describes her credo to the art. It is just of a lot of one “Kopfarbeit” and a lot hangs together with the kind as one handles with talents and abilities, this strictly promotes and develops from it his own philosophy and his expression.
Margot Stöckl has chosen the way of the art, and thus is glad The gallery STEINER – to show the exhibition “Kopfarbeit” of the Tirol artist in the lower floor of The gallery STEINER – art & wine from the 16th of October, 2009 to the 10th of November, 2009. The artist shows these in 27 sculptures, mainly from the materials aluminium, brass, bronze, iron and tone.
The opening of the exhibition occurs on Thursday, 15th of October, 2009 (beginning 19h) in The gallery STEINER – art & wine, Kurrentgasse 4, in 1010 Vienna.
The opening speech will be held by Dr. Marianne Hussl-Hörmann.
The artist lives and works in Stumm im Zillertal, Tyrol.
Margot Stoeckl will appear on the day of the opening personally.
