THE J. PAUL GETTY TRUST NAMES DR. DAVID LEE TO BOARD OF TRUSTEES

The Board of Trustees of the J. Paul Getty Trust today announced it has elected Dr. David Lee as a member of the board.

Dr. Lee is a co-founder and managing general partner of Clarity Partners, a private equity firm investing in communications, media and related services and technologies within these sectors. In 2007, he also co-founded Clarity China, a private equity firm focused on investments in Greater China. Prior to founding Clarity Partners in 2000, he was a co-founder of Global Crossing in 1997. Before founding Global Crossing, Dr. Lee served at Pacific Capital Group, where he helped the firm expand into the telecommunications industry. He came to Pacific Capital Group from TRW, where as group vice president of Finance and Acquisitions, he was instrumental in expanding the information systems business through acquisition and internal growth.

In addition, Dr. Lee brings experience in higher education and strong financial acumen, as well as extensive involvement in philanthropy here in Los Angeles.”

Dr. Lee is a trustee at California Institute of Technology and USC. He is the chairman of the Board of Overseers of the USC Keck School of Medicine. He is a director of Trust Company of the West, and co-chairman of the board of directors of Opnext, Inc.

Through a grant from the Lee Family Foundation, Dr. Lee has established Centers for Advanced Networking at the California Institute of Technology and at the National Chiao Tung University in Taiwan. He is a member of the Committee of 100, a national non-partisan organization composed of American citizens of Chinese descent who have achieved positions of leadership in the United States.

Dr. Lee lives with his wife Ellen, who is an artist, and their family in San Marino, California.

Dr. Lee joins a Getty Board of Trustees that includes leaders in art, education, and business who volunteer their time and expertise on behalf of the Getty. Members include Louise H. Bryson, chair, Stewart A. Resnick, Jay S. Wintrob, William E.B. Siart, Joanne C. Kozberg, Peter J. Taylor, Luis G. Nogales, Paul LeClerc, Neil L. Rudenstine, Frances Daly Fergusson, Mark S. Siegel, Maria Hummer-Tuttle and James N. Wood, president and CEO of the J. Paul Getty Trust.
