The current episodes on VernissageTV Art TV focus on the art scene in Cologne and Art Cologne 2009. Apart from reports from the international art fair Art Cologne 2009 VernissageTV covered three exhibitions at Museum Ludwig, which currently presents paintings by Christopher Wool, and video works by Erik van Lieshout and Jonathan Horowitz.
The much anticipated inauguration of the new Museum Brandhorst in Munich, designed by Berlin architects Sauerbruch Hutton, is another highlight in VernissageTV’s programming. The Director of the Brandhorst Collection, Prof. Dr. Armin Zweite, and the Deputy Director General of the Bayerische Gemäldesammlungen, Prof. Dr. Carla Schulz-Hoffmann, talk about museum’s architecture, the origins of the Brandhorst Collection, and the partnership between the Udo and Anette Brandhorst Collection and the Bayerische Staatsgemäldesammlungen.
VernissageTV also traveled to Berlin to attend the opening of two Imi Knoebel exhibitions at Neue Nationalgalerie (New National Gallery) and Deutsche Guggenheim.
In Paris VernissageTV covered the exhibition HF | RG (Harun Farocki | Rodney Graham) at Jeu de Paume, and in Sevilla, Spain the TV art project had a close look at works by Nancy Spero at the Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo CAAC.
For the design addicts VernissageTV went to Weil am Rhein where the Vitra Design Museum mounted a large retrospective on the work of the Brazilian designers Fernando and Humberto Campana.
