Roisin Fitzpatrick, contemporary Irish artist, has created a new and innovative art form. Her art shares the beauty and the clarity of the light she discovered during a near death experience (NDE). Deepak Chopra, international author and lecturer called Roisin’s work “Inspiring!” and New York Times best-selling author Marianne Williamson wrote: “Roisin Fitzpatrick’s art has blessed my life, reminding me always of the light inherent in everything.”
Roisin’s style is a fusion of light, Swarovski crystal and silk, with light being the true medium of her art. Roisin’s art is inspiring and uplifting, particularly during these challenging times. Hence she shares her art as “Artist of the Light.”
Roisin (pronounced “Ro-sheen”) recently had a phenomenal response to her art at the New York Art Expo 2009. She then followed with her solo exhibition at the Ward-Nasse Gallery in Soho, New York. This exhibition was opened by Niall Burgess the Irish Consul General and continues at the gallery (178 Prince Street, New York, NY) until 30th June 2009. Roisin was recently interviewed by Loretta Brennan Glucksman of the American Ireland Fund, for Irish Radio New York. Roisin has also given seminars and presented her art at East West Living on 5th Avenue and the Association of Research and Enlightenment in downtown Manhattan.
Each artwork, using themes from nature, Celtic symbols and the cosmos, mesmerizes the observer, revealing a sense of deep inner peace, serenity, harmony and soul connection. The art brings beauty and inspiration together by expressing intricate patterns with simple elegance. Through the movement of light across, around and through crystal, the majesty of the Universe, mysteries of nature and ancient wisdom of pre-Celtic art are brought to life. The crystal, seemingly floating above white silk via Roisin’s trademark thread-based technique, comes alive when any light plays across it, inviting the viewer to relax and experience peace through meditation on the gentle patterns.
Dr. Christine Ranck, co-author of “Ignite the Genius Within,” has written, “Artists often say they work with light, but Roisin Fitzpatrick does it — literally. She seems to have created a new art form. You cannot just passively look — because it seems to literally pull you in with its energy and demand that you respond. By capturing the magnitude and power of the universe, she brilliantly makes the link between that which is infinite both inside and outside.”
There is great freedom to alter the mood of Roisin Fitzpatrick’s art by using LED lighting. The lighting can be programmed to adapt and harmonise with the observer, the time of day or night and the location of the art. White light creates an atmosphere of clarity with infinite possibilities. Coloured light alters the ambience of the art. Vibrant warm colours such as reds/oranges/yellows, create energising, uplifting moods. Cooler shades of blues/greens/violets, create more calming, soothing environments.
Over 400 of Roisin’s designs have qualified for EU design registration and US copyright registration. Each piece of art is signed with her original trademark. Many of the designs are available for viewing at Roisin’s website, www.roisinfitzpatrick.com.
