Life as a freelance photographer has taken Don Schimmel to the four corners of the globe, and has put him in a variety of situations. This exposure to the world is reflected in the vast inventory of images he has captured during his many travels.
His latest endeavor brought him back home to the world of the working cowboy, for which he is known. Schimmel’s work encompasses images of stunning panoramic landscapes, rodeo scenes, and images of the true hero of the American west, the working cowboy.
Accomplishments include many magazine articles; awards of merit including The Los Angeles Times
Photo of the Year, Best of Show in Art Festivals and Publications for “The Last Roundup” and “Under a
Rustler’s Moon”.
