Conversation on the Project Space: Merge Special Guest Speaker: Stephanie Guyet 4:40 pm Sunday, January 31, 2016

Join us for a talk by Stephanie Guyet, and conversation with Karen Gibbons, Tom Bovo and Gail Flanery on their exhibition, Merge, in the Project Space.

A passionate advocate for the arts, Guyet has dedicated her career to supporting and promoting the work of individual artists, arts programming, and funding at institutions like SFMOMA, governmental agencies like the French Embassy, and local community-based organizations like 440 Gallery. Currently, Guyet is managing the education and public programs at the Neuberger Museum at SUNY Purchase. There she works closely with the museum’s curators, and Purchase faculty, to plan talks, performances, and tours that engage with a diverse public and bring the museum’s permanent collection and its exhibitions to life. A champion of all things bold and quirky, she has great affection for 440 Gallery and its artist members and is delighted to be able to speak in depth about their work.

Each artist has incorporated new elements into their habitual way of working, albeit in different media, Gibbons uses sculptural forms, Bovo photography and Flanery printmaking. The artists push limits conceptually and visually so that their work might begin to merge into a single experience for those who visit the 440 Project Space this month.

440 Gallery is located at 440 Sixth Avenue in Park Slope, Brooklyn, between 9th and 10th Streets, and is convenient to the F, G, and R subways. The gallery is open on Thursday and Friday, 4-7pm, and Saturday and Sunday, 11am – 7pm, or by appointment.
