Gray MCA will be holding an exhibition in Mayfair during London Fashion Week of the recently discovered work of Canadian fashion illustrator, (& Modernist painter, official war artist to Canada), Irwin ‘Bud’ Crosthwait from Thursday 17 – Tuesday 22 September 2015 at Gallery 8, 8 Duke Street, St James’s, London SW1.
The selling exhibition will present the most extensive collection of his works under one roof – some publicly unseen for years, and some never before seen. It will include more than 60 original works from private collections around the world including: War Art, Fashion Illustration & Modern Art with prices ranging from £350 to £10,000.
As a fashion illustrator he designed for top couture houses such as Dior and Marc Vaughan, as well as fashion magazines: Harpers Bazaar and Vogue, among others.
I attach two press releases (one on his fashion illustrations/art works and one on the discovery story) and please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to talk to Connie or Ashley – the exhibition curators – who would come over very well in interviews.
The Canadian Embassy is sponsoring the private view, as a tribute to his contribution as a Canadian artist.
