Pintar Rapido new art festival for London

TODAY (July 2) sees the launch of Pintar Rapido (meaning Painting Quickly in Spanish), a new two-day arts festival in London taking place on July 13 & 14 across the Borough of Kensington & Chelsea.

Pintar RapidoIt is open to professional and amateur artists from all over the UK and will celebrate London’s urban cityscape and diversity. The best work of the weekend will be awarded the Pintar Prize of £1,000 and all works painted will go on sale at Chelsea Old Town Hall, King’s Road Chelsea, London.

Roger Beckett, festival founder, said: “We already have over 300 artists signed up making Pintar Rapido the biggest outdoor painting festival and exhibition in the UK.”

“This is a chance for artists all over the UK to get creative in the capital or for art appreciators to pick up a work that will depict this much-loved city.”

What to expect during Pintar Rapido:

Saturday 13 July:
Artists choose their own location across the Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and create an artwork in any medium and at any size. The Borough offers numerous points for inspiration including the river Thames, parks, street life, old and new architecture and industrial landscapes.

Sunday 14 July:
The Pintar Prize of £1000 will be awarded and all the works will go on sale to the public at Chelsea Old Town Hall, King’s Road, London. 10 percent of all sales revenue is donated to The Campaign For Drawing.
