Donna Howard. Precision and Joy in Paint at Agora Gallery

Prismatic and electric, North American painter Donna Howard cleverly weaves subtle narrative into each one of her bright paintings.

Donna Howard-Owel

Textured and nuanced with an ambient, lyrical sense of space, Howard’s paintings are emblems of a prolifically curious mind, and speak to diverse experiences and moments of human life. Strict, precise brushwork betrays the artist’s ardently playful and whimsical fancies, speaking to the duality inherent in all of our psyches. With every shift and movement of the eye as it engages with Howard’s works, we see refreshingly differently, as if we were looking through a kaleidoscope. These paintings are nothing if not marked with courageousness. “Bravest thing I ever did was to share my paintings with the world,” she admits. “Exploring the scariest corners of my mind opened a door containing so much laughter there was no way to keep it to myself.” Indeed, joy of life, translated into color and shape, epitomizes these engaging works.

An emerging artist, Donna Howard has already exhibited her works throughout the North East of the United States.
