The event caters for art enthusiasts and collectors as well as those keen to learn more about art. As one of only a few fairs operating for both independent artists and galleries it allows visitors to meet and buy from artists directly and also see a more comprehensive range from professional galleries.
Whether you are looking to start or add to your contemporary fine art collection, or if you just want to find out more about the art scene come along to the fair. Organiser Deborah James says “This year’s theme is Art for You, even if you haven’t been along to an art fair before we feel sure you’ll love this way of choosing artwork for your home. It’s incredibly easy and fun to browse, make your selection and then take your piece home with you”.
The format of Reading Contemporary Art Fair is very “user-friendly”, visitors can stroll through the stands and see everything from traditional landscapes to vibrant abstracts with a range of prices to suit all pockets. The atmosphere is very relaxed, friendly and informative with artists and galleries very happy to discuss their work, vision and inspirations.
There will be a series of Jubilee themed art workshops taking place over the weekend run by Jelly. See the website for more info and updates.
The Fair will be held on 28th & 29th April 2012 just over Caversham Bridge at Rivermead Leisure Complex. Tickets are available on the door at £6 per person, £4 for concessions and children under 12 are free.
