The meeting of the ARCOmadrid 2012 Organising Committee was held last Monday 11 July and Tuesday 12 July. We are particularly happy with the quality and quantity of applications received. In the upcoming months we will continue working on the various phases before reaching the definitive list of galleries to take part in ARCOmadrid 2012, to be decided in the second meeting of the Committee scheduled for 26 and 27 October, after which we will announce the final selection.
Meanwhile, we continue working on the curated programmes. Focus The Netherlands, directed by Xander Karskens, will bring 15 Dutch galleries to ARCOmadrid; Manuel Segade is currently working on the selection of European galleries to be included in Opening; and the application period for Solo Projects: Focus Latin America remains open until 30 September.
ARCOmadrid is planning a number of activities for September in Madrid, but also in Barcelona and Istanbul. We would be delighted to meet you in any of them. On 16 September, coinciding with the opening of the 12th Istanbul Biennial, we will be presenting the programme for ARCOmadrid 2012.
