The Luc Tuymans Catalogue Raisonné of Paintings is presently being prepared.
The publication will illustrate and document approximately 500 paintings by the artist from 1975 to the present day. Each work will be accompanied by detailed information about its origin, provenance, exhibition history, and a bibliography, in addition to extensive supporting material.
This first, comprehensive record of Tuymans’s complete body of paintings will provide an indispensible resource for scholars, art institutions, and others interested in the artist’s oeuvre. While the publication will only catalogue paintings, Tuymans’s prolific curatorial projects will be referenced to further contextualize his practice, and works executed in other media, including drawings, collages, prints, photographs, and films, will be highlighted if they represent a defining influence on the artist’s paintings.
Compiled and edited by the art historian Dr. Eva Meyer-Hermann, the publication of the catalogue raisonné is overseen and produced by David Zwirner, New York in collaboration with Studio Luc Tuymans in Antwerp. Research support will be provided by Zeno X Gallery, Antwerp. Numerous works are being digitally re-photographed to secure the best possible reproduction.
Collectors and past owners of works by Tuymans are kindly asked to complete the questionnaire or contact the catalogue raisonné office at [email protected] / +32 3 336 64 75.
