Rabley Contemporary Drawing are exhibiting drawings by twenty two of the most exciting artists drawing today. They reflect fresh definitions and a resurgence of interest in drawing placing it centre stage of the contemporary fine art arena.
“Emma Stibbon creates de-populated ‘Vistaramas’ of dramatic physical and constructed landscapes, her drawings in chalk on blackboards are charged with the energy of change. Kerry Phippen’s other-worldly girl in ‘Head full of flowers’ is fluidity drawn with a brush and ink over small leaves of multi-coloured paper. Samuel Kelly reveals the archaeology of an urban landscape in an aerial micro-drawing of New York, the ancient Red Indian path cutting a diagonal through its grid, Anka Dabrowska constructs small paper folly’s in homage to her Polish birthplace, each inscribed with drawn of signs from contemporary culture….”
