Festiv’Art Frelighsburg “Migration” 14th Edition

Located in Frelighsburg, one of Quebec’s most beautiful villages, the “Festiv’Art” open-air gallery will showcase some remarkable visual-art talent from Quebec, Ontario and Vermont.

On Saturday and Sunday of the Labour Day weekend, the streets and lawns of Frelighsburg are transformed into a spectacular outdoor art gallery, exhibiting the work of 105 artists and 20 craftsmen. The Festiv’Art is a vast showcase where artists and public come together to discuss art and creation.

This year, art lovers and buyers will be particularly interested in the art festival’s mixture of genres, as well as a new space for contemporary art. The Festiv’Art is proud to present the work of the distinguished artist Francoise Sullivan, cosignatory of the famous Refus Global manifesto. Recipient of numerous awards and distinctions in Canada, Sullivan is still active and creative after a long career spanning over 60 years. The exhibition will provide an exclusive look at her recent painting and engraving, including some works that have never previously left her studio, as well as a special work on dance entitled “Les Saisons Sullivan.”

Musicians in a variety of styles will enliven the visitor’s stroll through the village. Local products will be available including cider to mark the 20th anniversary of the creation of ice cider. The local elementary school will present its magnificent new arboretum, open to Festiv’Art visitors for the first time.

Do not miss this opportunity to see original art and meet the artists in one of the most beautiful villages of Quebec!
