Media Reception at the AXA Art “Space” Toronto International Art Fair

AXA Art is extending an invitation to members of the Canadian art, business, insurance, design and lifestyle media to visit its “Space” at the Toronto International Fine Art Fair on Friday, October 3, 2008 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 pm.

On view will be furniture and material designs by avant-garde space design studio Molo along with a group of signed 18th century French furniture with original mounts by known cabinet makers, provided by acclaimed antiques dealer, Jonnys Antiques Ltd. Profiling the history and warmth of high quality antiques with the energy and excitement of contemporary design serves to bring attention to the inherent fragile nature of cultural heirlooms and the importance of proper care and preventive maintenance to preserve them for future generations.

AXA Art recently announced its newly-formed partnership with the Toronto International Art Fair (TIAF), where the company will serve as exclusive art insurance partner of TIAF and offer complementary specialist art insurance consultation service onsite at the fair. Every year TIAF presents a diverse speakers program highlighting current issues in both private and institutional collections as well as providing context to on site projects. With the proficiency of its international art historians and relationship with renowned curators, appraisers, shippers, handlers and tax consultants around the world, AXA Art will collaborate with TIAF to profile topics in collecting and protecting art, as part of the fair’s cultural programming.

Journalists are invited to engage AXA’s senior managers led by President and CEO of AXA Art Insurance Corporation, Christiane Fischer; Vice President & Senior Fine Art Underwriter of AXA Art, Ann-Louise Seago, who will be available to answer questions about AXA’s newly-created partnership with the Toronto International Art Fair, trends in the contemporary art world and collection management. Don’t miss an opportunity to experience a guided tour of TIAF in English or French, curated by AXA Art’s in-house fine art experts.
