ORANGE, Calif – Following testing and approval by the International Fine Art Trade Guild, Breathing Color, Inc. has issued Archival Quality Certificates for three award-winning products it designs for the fine art and photography markets. The certificates, which provide an assurance that archival standards for print permanence are met, are for the firm’s Chromata White Canvas, Elegance Velvet Fine Art Paper, and Optica One Fine Art Paper.
“These proprietary products already lead the industry in color gamut, dmax and longevity,” said Breathing Color president Nicholas Friend. “We’re delighted they have met and exceeded the rigorous standards of the Guild. Our customers can be absolutely confident that their prints are suitable for the fine art and photography markets.”
Friend said the certificates are available on the firm’s website, www.breathingcolor.com. “Our customers are free to download, print and use them as they see fit with their own customers.”
Fine Arts Trade Guild provides testing to protect consumer interests and maintain the integrity of the art and framing industry. Working with independent laboratories approved by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service, the Guild conducted the ‘Blue Wool Test’ on each Breathing Color product. The test, which is defined by the American Society for Testing and Materials’ historical standard #D5383-97, measured the factors of pH and lightfastness.
