Film
This year’s Film sector presents a premier program of films by and about artists. Screened on the 7,000-square-foot outdoor projection wall of the Frank Gehry-designed New World Center in SoundScape Park and organized in association with David Gryn, Director of Londonʼs Artprojx, the 2013 program presents over 70 film and video works drawn from the show’s participating galleries, including works by Dara Birnbaum, Martin Creed, Rineke Dijkstra, Joan Jonas, Yinka Shonibare MBE, Mickalene Thomas and Kehinde Wiley.

This Brunner’s feature film selection is the United States premiere of Nan Goldin – I Remember Your Face (2013) by Sabine Lidl. Followed by a Q&A with Nan Goldin and the film director, the film will be shown at the Colony Theatre at 8.30pm on Friday, December 6. Entry is free, but seating is limited.

David Gryn’s 2013 program, which will again be screened on the 7,000-square-foot outdoor projection wall of the Frank Gehry-designed New World Center in SoundScape Park, will present over 70 film and video works drawn from the show’s participating galleries, including works by Dara Birnbaum, Martin Creed, Rineke Dijkstra, Joan Jonas, Yinka Shonibare MBE, Mickalene Thomas and Kehinde Wiley.

Endangered Museums: Learning From the Case of the Detroit Institute of Arts.” A series of engaging pairings—including artist Tracey Emin with Sir Norman Rosenthal; Olafur Eliasson with Klaus Biesenbach; and Josh Baer of the Baer Faxt with the artist Joseph Kosuth—promise to provide unique insight into the artists practice, the balance between the art market and art history.
