Pulse New York Art Fair Announces List of Exhibitors

Executive Director Helen Allen announced the list of exhibitors for the 2010 New York edition of PULSE Contemporary Art Fair. Having entered its fifth season with a successful and critically-acclaimed run in Miami last December, PULSE will host over 50 exhibitors from around the world at their New York Fair this year. Approximately half of the internationally-diverse roster of exhibitors hail from the U.S. and the rest from abroad, together representing 18 countries and four continents. PULSE New York will also inaugurate its new home at 330 West Street, a former warehouse complex in downtown Manhattan with 45,000 square feet of exhibition space.

This year’s Fair will feature many returning galleries, most of which have exhibited at several New York and Miami editions of PULSE, including Conner Contemporary from Washington, DC; Winkleman Gallery, P.P.O.W. Gallery, and Andrea Meislin from New York; Mark Moore Gallery from Santa Monica; Galerie Stefan Roepke from Cologne; Perugi Artecontemporanea from Padua, Italy; Galerie Ernst Hilger from Vienna; Horrach Moya from Palma de Mallorca, Spain; M+B from Los Angeles; Diana Lowenstein from Miami; and Habana from Havana.

PULSE will also welcome several newcomers with strong international credentials, among which are Koplin del Rio from Culver City, CA; Tyler Rollins Fine Art and Art in General from New York; Ai Kowada Gallery from Tokyo; Galerie PICI from Seoul; and Antena Estudio from Mexico City.

In addition to gallery booth presentations, PULSE New York will once again host its acclaimed series of programs including its installations and large-scale sculpture program, and PULSE Play>. This year’s edition of PULSE Play> will be curated by Deborah Cullen, Director of Curatorial Programs at New York’s El Museo del Barrio.

The PULSE Prize and PULSE People’s Choice Award will also each return, to be given to booth presentations of distinction in the IMPULSE section of the fair. New York 2009 PULSE Prize winner, Eric Beltz, will design the PULSE New York 2010 tote bag. Beltz, who received the award for his drawings depicting figures from American history juxtaposed against natural themes and spiritual texts, will also have his recent work displayed in Morgan Lehman’s booth at the Fair.
