NEW ROLLING STONES PRINTS
Eyestorm is pleased to release two brand new limited edition lithographs by the artist behind much of the early Rolling Stones artwork including the famous ‘tongue and lips’ logo, one of the most recognisable symbols in Rock & Roll history.
Until now, John Pasche has remained relatively anonymous in the art world. He was first commissioned to make art work for The Rolling Stones in 1970 while at The Royal College of Art as a student. Initially asked to design a poster for their forthcoming tour, he was later requested to come up with a logo for their independent record label and the cult tongue and lips symbol was born.
The original logo art was recently bought by the V&A Museum and will be exhibited there from April 2009.
The new lithographs, The Rolling Stones European Tour 1970 and The Rolling Stones American Tour 1972 were printed at The Curwen Studio and have been created directly from the original art work from over 35 years ago. They are currently available to buy through Eyestorm for £400 +VAT each.
Eyestorm will be exhibiting the prints at The London Original Print Fair at The Royal Academy of Arts between 22nd and 26th April 2009.
