This Friday, February 6th is the opening of the Celebration for African American Aesthetics. Featured is the artwork of ten critically acclaimed artists and is in honor of Black History Month. Detroit bred artist, BeloZro is one of the artists gracing the Russell Gallery with his Neo-Calligraphic work that holds hints of Realism and Impressionism. Also showing is Christopher Batten, whose work has been described as the journey into the artist’s mind, using traditional techniques and vivid color to convey his thoughts and emotions to the viewer.

Opening reception and a meet and greet with the artists is 3pm – 8pm, live Jazz from the Sheila Landis Rick Matle Duo will be adding to the atmosphere. A fashion show presented by 313FAD incorporating seven designers will be held in the Exhibition Center Showplace, meanwhile in the Russell Gallery a VIP reception for networking professionals will be taking place, VIP tickets are $10 and the start time for both of these events is 6pm.

Wright Museum of African American History, The Sherry Washington Gallery and the Russell Gallery. The tickets for the crawl are $15 which include entry into each gallery, transportation and V.I.P. reception with free food and drinks.
