The Williams College Museum of Art (WCMA) has been awarded a grant of $400,000 from the Terra Foundation for American Art to help implement the exhibition “Prendergast in Italy.” The exhibition, organized by WCMA in partnership with the Terra Foundation, will open in the summer of 2009 and travel to the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice and the Solomon R. The Kresge Foundation, long known for its national support of the arts, announced Kresge Arts in Detroit October 16 during a press conference and reception held at the Detroit Institute of Arts for more than 160 attendees representing the area’s civic and arts communities. Environmentally-friendly art is the talk of the town in Highland Park, NJ, following Main Street Highland Park’s fourth annual Arts in the Park art festival. The seventh edition of the Florence Biennale of Contemporary Art will take place at the historic Fortezza da Basso in Florence from 5-13 December, 2009.
