SAN FRANCISCO, CA – With Studios in New York City and San Francisco, Christopher continues to photograph and create documentary films, while donating his work to raise funds for the arts, including for the Randall Museum, operated by the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department, Kips Bay and Southampton Showcases and the University High School’s San Francisco Decorator Showcase.
Christopher Flach’s film “Madeleine Castaing,” is the documentary that is featured in the Winter 2008, issue of Oprah Winfrey’s classic Magazine “Oprah Home.” The film explores the personality and influence of the French decorator and antique dealer. The film celebrates Castaing’s neoclassical taste in decor and her glamorous appearance even into her 90s. The film reintroduces her taste for Napoleon III furnishings and 18th century English furniture to collectors of art and design.
A New York City native, Flach has earned a BFA and a PHD. He spent his very early art career studying with Ansel Adams and Yousuf Karsh and more recently under the tutelage of Mary Ellen Mark.
His photography has appeared in the New York Times, Western Interiors and Design Magazine, House Beautiful Magazine, Traditional Home Magazine, Elle Decor and Paper City.
