“Evolution of the Nude” Receives the 2008 Crystal Award

Published June 29th, 2008

“Evolution of the Nude”, a short internet video by the Blue Rose Group Arts Cooperative, has received the 2008 Crystal Award, given annually to films and videos which inspire and educate in an artistic context.

In three and a half minutes, the video reprises 3000 years of artistic history, showing how depictions of the female form have changed from the ancient Greeks to the present. Each image morphs into the next, giving an impression of continuous aesthetic creation, as if one artist painted all the images from the Venus de Milo till the 21st century.
