Opera House Auction Puts Spotlight On Designer Gowns

On Saturday it was opening nigh of Cosi fan tutte at the Ziff Ballet Opera House. 

Along with dramatic music, models showed off gowns created by local designers for a silent auction to benefit the Florida Grand Opera.

What makes the dresses especially unique is that they were inspired by the center’s upcoming operas.

“There is nothing that says glamour like the opening night of the Opera,” said Erin Charlton, Director of Public Relations for Florida Grand Opera.

The Ziff Ballet Opera House seats 2400 and is the 2nd largest arts center in the USA, after Lincoln Center in New York.This proscenium theater with its state-of-the-art technical systems is designed to serve the needs of the most complex of productions, ranging from Broadway plays and musicals to opera, ballet, and dance.

To accommodate the hall’s many uses, the room is equipped with adjustable acoustic curtains and banners.

The Ziff Ballet Opera House is located at at the Carnival Cemter on 1300 Biscayne Blvd in Downtown Miami.
