NC Artist Jason Craighead Joins Bucks Gallery of Fine Art in Pennsylvania

Published 24 October 2007

Raleigh-based abstract expressionist Jason Craighead has now added Bucks Gallery of Fine Art in Newtown, Pennsylvania to his roster of gallery representation. His work first appeared in the gallery’s “Fifth Annual Fall Exhibition of Gallery Artists: Impressionism, Modern Art & Sculpture” September 29 through October 17.

Located in Bucks County in the heart of historic Newtown Borough, Bucks Gallery of Fine Art showcases traditional and modern painters and sculptors throughout the two floors of its art deco building. In addition to exhibiting its permanent collection of regional artists, the gallery also specializes in international art.

Craighead is also represented by Somerhill Gallery in Chapel Hill, Broadhurst Gallery in Pinehurst, New Elements Gallery in Wilmington, and Anne Irwin Fine Art in Atlanta, Georgia. Bucks Gallery of Fine Art will debut his work in the Northeast.

Jason Craighead, 36, is an abstract expressionist best known for his predominantly large-scale canvases that combine acrylic, oil pastel, and graphite in multiple layers of color, lines, and drips. In his most recent work, all but random segments of color and line are “painted out” behind thin white pigment, evoking a sense of peering through a veil to discover what lies within. The spontaneous marks on the canvas are often inspired by elements of the urban landscape.

Bucks Gallery of Fine Art is located at 201 S. State Street, Newtown, PA. For more information, visit http://www.bucksgalleryoffinearat.com.
